Vashon Island Pet Protectors will consider adoptive families in the Vashon and surrounding areas. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the animal's background and your family's needs. Every animal is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with kids and other animals, medical needs and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a forever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right animal with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
We appreciate you wanting to bring a animal into your home. In order for us to find the right pet for you, we need you to submit an adoption application.
We will review your application upon receipt. If we have any questions or concerns, we will contact you for clarity.
Once your application review is complete, if you are considering adopting a dog, a Vashon Island Pet Protectors volunteer will contact you to schedule a home visit to meet in person and discuss all-things pet. During the home visit, we look for potential hazards for the animal that the adopter may not have considered. All household members must be present during the home visit. This includes all pets.
Once approved to adopt, VIPP will do our very best to connect you with the most compatible pets for you and your lifestyle.
