VIPP is always looking for more volunteer support, as we are an all-volunteer organization! There are many ways to get involved and support the work that we do.
Cat Shelter Shift - Shelter shifts require about two hours of time per shift. There is a morning and evening shift available each day, which includes feeding, medicating in some cases, cat box cleaning, TLC, record keeping and light cleaning. Most shifts are done with two volunteers. The shelter is located off of Old Mill Rd. The best way to get started is to fill out a Volunteer Application and someone will get back to you shortly. Lost & Found Program -DO YOU LOVE BRINGING JOY? Join our Lost & Found Program! This program helps reunite pet owners with their lost or found pet. The best fit for a position like this is someone who is dog-savvy, can take calls and go out to pick up or help search for lost or found dogs and cats. It is a very rewarding program and works well for someone who works from home or has flexible hours. VIPP can work with you, whether you are available one day a week or more. No Hungry Pets Program - This program serves over 50 families a month, providing supplemental pet food for our community. The distribution happens next to the Vashon Maury Food Bank on the first Wednesday of every month. There are three shifts of two hours each. Packing pet food for distribution occurs at the same location on the first Tuesday. The best way to get started is to fill out a Volunteer Application and someone will get back to you shortly. Dog Adoption Team - Finding the right home for a dog is our number one goal. This position, requires a person who can accept applications, meet with potential adopters, and be able to determine the best fit for that animal and adopter. The time commitment for this position varies. Good communication skills and empathy for both dogs and potential adopters and organizational abilities required. Apply to be a board member - If your interest lies more in the planning, fiduciary and sustainability of an organization, a position as a board member might be right for you. A board position requires one (1 1/2 hour) meeting a month. The extent of your workload depends on you. To apply for board service, click here

Foster A Dog - VIPP houses its dogs in foster homes. VIPP is always looking for more foster homes. Fosters are supported with help with dog walking, vet and grooming visits and what ever support you need to be successful. None of this questionnaire will be shared outside of VIPP.
NOTE: The minimum age for volunteering is 16+. In order for a minor under the age of 18 to volunteer with VIPP, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign a Minor Volunteer Consent and Release Form
