The story of Brutus is so amazing that it is hard to believe that he is indeed alive!
Brutus was found on the Ides of March, completely entangled in nylon mesh, and so frightened that he hissed and snarled at his rescuers. When he was seen by the veterinarians, they found that he was not neutered, FIV positive and possibly feral. After his neuter surgery, it was discovered that he also suffered some kind of neurological damage and he could not stand up. His Angel, Kay Farris, came to his rescue and took him home. With her patience and will, Kay helped him heal and and got him back on all four paws. Over time it was clear that Brutus was not at all a feral cat; he was a total love bug. Brutus is now ready to have a home of his own. He will need to be an indoor kitty and he would be best as an only cat with adults or older kids. If you would love to have a cat that has survived all odds, this boy is the best. Date of Arrival: 3/16/10
The name Ramona means wise protector. Ramona certainly is a wise girl but it turns out she was one that needed some protecting. Ramona was turned over to VIPP after her owner chose to have her euthanized because he simply didn't want her anymore. Since there was absolutely no medical reason for euthanasia, the veterinarian contacted VIPP about taking her in. Of course we did. Ramona is an absolute diva of a cat with a fabulous fluff of a tale which is permanently curled in a spiral. She looks like one of those 19th century mavens wrapped up in a furry stole. If you like a cat who is truly a Grande Dame, this girl is for you. date of entry 6/10/10
