Barbara L. Drinkwater, President
As one of the founders of Vashon Island Pet Protectors, Barbara has been active in VIPP since 1984. Currently she serves as President and Dog Coordinator. Prior to retirement from Pacific Medical Center where she was a Research Physiologist, Barbara was active in studies examining the role of exercise and hormones in the prevention of osteoporosis. She was the first woman president of the American College of Sports Medicine and has received the prestigious Honor award from that organization. She is also a member of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research and the International Society for Clinical Densitometry. Presently she serves as a member of the Medical and Scientific Group of the International Olympic Committe's Medical Commission.
Geoff Fletcher, Vice President
Geoff Fletcher has been vice-president since 2002. In addition to his duties as vice president, he helps his wife Terri with various cat duties for VIPP, including trapping cats for the feral program and fielding phone calls and emails relating to lost and found cats.
Geoff is editorial director of T.H.E. Journal, a technology and education magazine. He is a former teacher at the high school and college level, and terms himself "a recovering bureaucrat" after serving in the Texas Department of Education for 11 years. While in Austin, TX, Geoff volunteered for Animal Trustees of Austin. He also has served as a board member for Vashon Allied Arts.
Cindy Duntley, Treasurer
Cindy has been Treasurer of VIPP since 2000. She is responsible for the organization's financial and membership recordkeeping. In addition, Cindy is the editor of VIPP's "Paw Prints" newsletter.
Prior to her retirement, Cindy was First Vice President and Director, Cash Management for Dean Witter Discover & Co. and was a Certified Public Accountant.
